getting there

There's been a fair bit to do today in relation to the event that we're holding tomorrow.

Like collecting display boards from different neighbouring bodies. We can't do it all by ourselves.

And there've been fifty or so DVDs to produce, each with its cover with graphics and script which requires to be carefully cut to fit inside. And each of the DVDs takes quite a while to burn. And the computer's been playing up and half the time's reluctant to accept a disk I try to insert.

One of those days. Juggling a hundred and one different things.

In amongst preparing for the services this coming Sunday. And the meeting that there'll be after the shorter morning service. And the need to work quite hard to make that morning service shorter by some way from what it usually is.

And tomorrow's event to be thought about, too. And preparation done. A powerpoint presentation for the prize-giving that we're holding in relation to the children's competition that we ran about the best way we could use the ground we have.

And the little opening ceremony that we'll hold. And how that's to be worked.

It happened as well to be just the day the engineer came to do his annual maintenance on the burglar alarm at the house. So I had to head back there as well. It's usually not that long.

But today it was. We seem to have a problem, he declared. Once he'd been at the house for at least three times the length of time he generally is.

And then the police rang!

Is that Mr Middleton?

I could get rather paranoid, the way I seem to have them on my tail these days! But it wasn't anything sinister. Just the alarm engineer had set off the alarm and so the police then got involved.

It was one of those days.

And cricket on top of it all at night.

And yes, we lost again! But, hey, we're getting better!
